“The Kitchen” Filming Through Friday in Gravesend, “Crashing” in Ditmas Park

The mob drama called “The Kitchen” is filming around Avenue U, 86th, West 12th – a number of blocks have been blocked off by the cones in the area.

Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss, play the wives of jailed Irish gangsters. After their husbands get locked up, the wives take over the business, to become the most ruthless gangsters in the 1970s Hell’s Kitchen. The full cast here.

Hollywood Reporter says that “Melissa McCarthy will play an adoring mother who leads the women’s charge to take over the business, while TiffanyHaddish will portray a woman willing to kill anyone in the way of her plan. ElisabethMoss will play a timid wife of an abusive husband who falls in love with the violence of her new life.”

Written by “Straight Outta Compton” writer Andrea Berloff, who is also directing, the story is based on the comic book series by Ollie Masters and Ming Doyle, and is produced by Michael De Luca. Should be out next fall.

Ditmas Park – along Dorchester Road between and off it on East 18th and 19th and thereabouts another comedy, Crashing (Season 3) will film through Friday.

Crashing is a comedy television series created and produced by Pete Holmes for HBO, and they are filming Season 3 right here. The story revolves around a fictional version of Holmes as a young comedian – he pursues a career in stand-up comedy after his wife cheats on him, and he is left homeless.  In case you have not seen it:
