The Greenmarket Report: Spring Forward
Spring is getting into swing at our local weekend markets, where flowers and other items you haven’t seen in months are reappearing, and the hours are getting a little longer.
There may be spring flowers available at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket on Saturday, March 22, but there’s still a bit of winter in the air — the Winter Warriors program continues through the end of the month, so make sure you get your card stamped to earn a coupon from one of your favorite farmers.
Then on Sunday, March 23 at the Park Slope Farmers Market, stop by American Pride Seafood, where they’ll have squid on sale for $9.99 per pound. Plus, this is the first weekend of longer hours at the market — they’ll now be open through 5pm each week.
The Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-5pm along 4th Street at 5th Avenue.
