The Greenmarket Report: Go Big Or Go Home
Whether you’re stocking up for a big Super Bowl party, or you’re just looking to try something super, our local markets are the place to be this weekend.
On Saturday, January 25, those with a big appetite should swing by the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket, where Lou from Roaming Acres Farm (pictured above) can help you figure out to do with one of their enormous ostrich eggs! And don’t forget to get your Winter Warriors card stamped at the information tent — fill up your card by March 31 to get a coupons from one of the farmers as your prize.
Then at the Park Slope Farmers Market on Sunday, January 26, start prepping for your big game day snack attack. Brooklyn Cured will have a deal on sausages to satisfy the whole crew, Brooklyn Bean can help you make a chili (or provide you with some they’ve already made), and many more vendors will provide inspiration for a crowd-pleasing menu.
The GAP Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-4pm along 4th Street at 5th Ave.
