The Greenmarket Report: Cooking Demo & Early Closing
The days are getting shorter, but that just means you’ll have to be a bit more creative with your market finds — and you may need to get to the market a little earlier to buy them.
On Saturday, November 9 from 10:30am to 1pm, Tali Biale of A Farmer’s Kitchen, and the manager of the Barclays Center Greenmarket, will be at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket information tent to show shoppers how to make the most of market finds, like how to create a delicious kale caesar salad and a foolproof dressing using a variety of items from the market. Plus, don’t forget to pick up your compost if you ordered some last week.
At the Park Slope Farmers Market on Sunday, November 10, it’s time to “fall back,” so the market now closes at 4pm, rather than 5pm (though it still opens at 10am). Plus, remember that you can drop off old clothes and other textiles to be recycled by Green Tree Textile Recycling.
The GAP Greenmarket runs Saturdays from 8am-4pm at Grand Army Plaza. The Park Slope Farmers Market runs Sundays from 10am-4pm along 4th Street at 5th Ave.
