The Greenmarket Report

It’s not just any GAP Greenmarket Day, it’s Food Truck Rally Day. As is true the third Sunday of every month June through October (gather ye roses while ye may!), a whole bunch of mobile eateries will be serving up dumplings/ice cream/waffles/lobster rolls (the exact lineup varies monthly) from 11am to 5pm.

Meanwhile, the chefs of Ger-Nis Culinary & Herb Center will be showing off what are arguably healthier options in the info tent. Starting a 10:30am, they’ll be hosting what the GAP Greenmarket’s Facebook page refers to as a “delicious summer ‘cooking’ demonstration” (why is “cooking” in quotes?), which sounds like the perfect prelude to a food truck binge.

And of course, there will be produce. So much produce.

Then on Sunday, Park Slope Farmers Market takes over the neighborhood’s collective vegetable needs (11am to 5pm). Really, though, the important things are happening between 1pm and 3, when they’re hosting tomato tastings at the info tent.
