It’s The Good Batch‘s one-year anniversary and they are celebrating as only a bakery can: with a weekend of free cookies! This Saturday and Sunday (September 12-13), the shop at 936 Fulton Street will be giving out their two most popular Signature Cookies: Oat Chocolate Chunk and Brown Butter Salty.“We are so happy to be part of the Clinton Hill/Fort Greene community, [which] feels like a true neighborhood,” said owner, chef, and resident Anna Gordon. “There are tons of diverse friendly faces from new happy families to folks who have been living here for years — customers who seem really excited about fresh baked goods and killer coffee and espresso!”If you’re looking for a daily deal beyond this weekend’s celebration, check out the $1 After School Cookie Special — dollar cookies every weekday from 2-5pm, for both adults and kids.Going forward, Gordon tells us her goal is for The Good Batch “to become a true staple of the neighborhood, where people can come hang out.“Our custom-order layered cakes have been becoming more popular [and] we just launched a new website where customers can easily order cakes online. Making a beautiful and delicious cake for someone’s birthday is the best,” she said.In addition to cookies (try the Chocolate Hazelnut), there are also seasonal ice cream sandwiches (coming up is a Pumpkin Chai flavor), Gooey Everything Bars, handmade pies for Thanksgiving and Christmas, and, soon, new savory items such as a Kale and Sweet Potato Hand Pie.“Overall it’s been such a thrill and an honor to become a part of the Clinton Hill community, and we’re so excited to see how Fulton Street continues to develop,” said Gordon. “We’re here for the long haul!”
