The Gallery Players Nominated For Awards Celebrating Great Off-Off-Broadway Work

A reminder that we’ve got some great theater right in our backyard? The Gallery Players, which has been bringing plays and musicals to Brooklyn since 1967 (and to its current home at 199 14th Street since 1989), was recently nominated for two New York Innovative Theatre Foundation awards.

Dwayne Washington has been nominated for the category of Outstanding Actor in a Featured Role for his work on Rent, which ran this past spring. And the winter run of A Little Night Music has been nominated for Outstanding Production of a Musical.

Please join us in congratulating them! They’ll find out the results at the awards ceremony on September 22 — break a leg!

And if you’d like to see what they’re all about, you’ve still got a chance to see Henry V, which is running through Sunday, August 3. You can see what else is coming up this season here.
