After a successful two years, a youth-run greenmarket will return to the Flatbush Junction area on Saturdays from July 11 through November 21.

The Flatbush Junction Youthmarket — one of five youthmarkets in Brookyn — will be held from 8:30am-3pm at Flatbush and Nostrand Avenues every Saturday, when neighbors can pick up produce grown by independent farmers, including:

Modeled after the city’s greenmarkets, such as the Cortelyou Greenmarket, GrownNYC’s youthmarkets aim to empower young people across the city to run farm stands as small business ventures, teaching them job skills while providing fresh and healthy food to their communities.

The Flatbush Junction Youthmarket is partnering with East Flatbush Village, Inc. and Councilman Jumaane Williams, and will accept WIC and FMNP coupons, EBT and food stamps, and credit and debit cards, as well as cash.

For more information, you can visit the youthmarket’s website.
