The Flatbush Junction Youthmarket Will Return In July

We’re excited to say that following a successful trial run last fall, a youth-run market will be returning to the Flatbush-Nostrand Junction Triangle on Saturdays from July 12 to November 22. Neighbors at the southern end of our area can pick up produce grown by independent New York and Pennsylvania farmers including:

GrownNYC’s Youthmarkets empower young people across the city to run farm stands as a small business venture, teaching them job skills while providing fresh food to their communities. Food is bought from farmers through GrowNYC’s Greenmarket Co., after which young participants get a chance to sell off their inventory.

The Flatbush Junction Youthmarket–only the fifth Youthmarket in Brooklyn–will be partnering with East Flatbush Village, Inc., and will accept WIC and FMNP coupons, EBT and food stamps, and credit and debit cards as well as cash.

Youthmarket hours have not yet been announced, but we will keep you posted as they become available.
