Edward Snowden may still be a fugitive in Russia, but the plaster-lie bust of his head is back in its creators’ possession today, after the NYPD returned it to the two artists through their attorney Ronald Kuby.

Kuby told the Associated Press that the “activist artists” — Jeff Greenspan and Andrew Tider — have also received two $50 tickets for their role in the clandestine installation of the former National Security Agency contractor’s likeness atop a pillar of the Prison Ship Martyrs Monument inside Fort Greene Park.

The summonses are for “being in the park after hours” and no criminal charges have been filed.

The move comes three weeks after the artists said they wanted the bust back from the NYPD, which had taken it as evidence in the investigation.

The bust will now make its way to New York City art galleries. Rumored locations include The Boiler gallery at 191 North 14th Street in Williamsburg and Postmasters at 54 Franklin Street in Manhattan.

If you’d rather print your own Snowden bust than go to an art gallery, that’s apparently now possible, as well, as the artist-activists released their 3-D specs on Thingiverse.
