Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

Today will bring comfortable temperatures with highs in the upper 60s, the National Weather Service reported. Get out and enjoy the pleasant weather before it gets too cold, locals. While you’re out and about, don’t forget to take some photos and post them to The Nabe’s Flickr group.

  • After Cornerstone Restaurant and Lounge on Adelphi Street at DeKalb Avenue closed in July, a new restaurant, operated by the owner of Woodland in Park Slope, is expected to open in its place, Brownstoner reported. Brendan Spiro, who applied for the new establishment’s full liquor license at a recent Community Board 2 meeting, said that the eatery would serve seafood and would have an outdoor courtyard. The establishment is expected to close by 2 a.m. most nights, according to the blog.
  • Two Fort Greene establishments, and one in Clinton Hill, made Brooklyn Happening‘s list of the best food and drink spots in the borough. In Fort Greene, the Greene Grape won in the gourmet category and Graziella’s took the title of second runner-up for best Italian food. In Clinton Hill, KelSo Beer Co. was the second runner-up for the best microbrewery.
  • The nabe also received accolades for its pizza this week. Not Ray’s Pizza on Fulton Street near South Portland Avenue made Brooklyn Magazine‘s list of the best places to grab a slice in the borough. “Eat a plain slice at Not Ray’s and be prepared for that old-school pizza experience of orange grease rivers running through your fingers and down your forearms,” the article said. “This slice is good for both cheese-lovers and sauce-lovers because it’s liberally covered in both.”
  • Local actress and activist Rosie Perez will join the panel of judges for Fort Greene’s Great PUPkin competition, in which locals dress up their dogs in Halloween costumes and win prizes for creativity, cuteness and other categories, DNAinfo reported. Hundreds of pups and about 500 spectators typically gather for the annual competition held in Fort Greene Park, which encourages owners to choose the most eccentric costumes possible for their pooches. This year’s competition will be held on Oct. 26 at noon, with registration beginning at 11 a.m.
