The Day: Hillstock’s 2013 Schedule and Barclays Center’s Custom Smell
Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.
We saw some of you enjoyed a sidewalk stroll, local flowers and a morning run yesterday. Although some meteorologists forecasted rain for most of the week, it looks like we’re received a reprieve for a few days. If you’re out and about, don’t forget to take a few photos and share them with us in The Nabe’s Flickr group.
- The biggest news for music-loving locals has been the announcement of Hillstock’s 2013 lineup. The three-day event, scheduled between June 21 and 23, takes place at four different spots in Clinton Hill, including Putnam Plaza, 905 Atlantic Avenue, 106 Emerson Place and 402 Park Avenue. While some of the concerts are free, others have a cover charge, so be sure to check out the full Hillstock schedule before you make plans.
- The Barclays Center has employed the minds at ScentAir to make a signature scent for the arena, DNAinfo reported. The scent marketing and branding company, which manufactures custom scents for other major amusement parks, stores and hotels, has pumped in a fresh smelling fragrance to enhance arena-goers’ experience. If you could name the custom smell of the arena, what would you call it, locals?
- A new tree guard designed by 4- and 5-year-olds in the “Grapes and Berries” class at the Trilok Center for Arts and Education was presented to the students yesterday, Myrtle Minutes reported. The design, one of 50 picked for Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership’s second round of tree guard installations on Myrtle Avenue that wrapped in January, is now part of a tree-bench near the corner of Myrtle and Waverly Avenues. Check out the new seat and let us know what you think.
