Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

It may be almost November, but for the next couple days, the weather will be mild for this time of year. Today, high temperatures will be in the low 60s, and they will continue to rise through Friday, when forecasters predict highs around 70, according to the National Weather Service. With the mild weather, you may not need a heavy jacket over your Halloween costume tomorrow, locals.

  • A raised two-way bike path and planted buffers are coming to the Brooklyn Navy Yard as another phase of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway construction on Flushing Avenue, Streetsblog reported. The reconstruction of Flushing Avenue is essential to the greenway, which will connect the Manhattan Bridge, DUMBO and the Farragut Houses to Williamsburg Street West, Kent Avenue, Williamsburg and Greenpoint, according to the blog. Community Board 2 passed a resolution supporting the project earlier this month and the city’s Public Design Commission will consider the plan next, the post outlined. The city’s Department of Design and Construction is expected to begin building next fall.
  • Looking for a fun way to spend Halloween with the kids? The Brooklyn Academy of Music is hosting BAMboo – a Halloween block party in front of the Peter Jay Sharp building on Lafayette Avenue between Ashland Place and Saint Felix Street – tomorrow evening. The event includes a performance by BAM’s Rock Ensemble, a deejay from the Scratch DJ Academy and stilt walkers. Kids can also participate in an obstacle course, make buttons, play carnival games and pick up some free candy. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. and run until 7 p.m.
  • Pratt Institute’s Center for Career and Professional Development will host its annual opportunity fair on Nov. 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., DowntownBrooklyn.com reported. There, students will be able to network with professionals from various companies, including Fox News, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Aéropostale and High 5 Games, to name a few. “Pratt Institute is teeming with exceptional individuals who are eager to meet creative and innovative companies and organizations,” Laura Keegan, Pratt’s Assistant Director of Experiential Education, told the website. “It is programs like this where our students and alumni can seek out ways to apply their education, skill, and passion through practical applications such as volunteer experiences, internships, and employment connections.”
