Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

We got a break from the rain at the start of this week, hopefully giving you some time to walk outside and enjoy the beginnings of summer-like weather. We noticed that some of you found interesting sights around the nabe, including a sports car with the colors, stars and stripes of the U.S. flag and painted birds flying from the Lafayette Avenue C train subway entrance. As you snap more shots on the streets, be sure to post your photos to The Nabe’s Flickr group.

You’re likely to see rain, and even thunderstorms, between today and Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Stay dry, locals.

Five more classes will be held as part of the program, all of which will be led by local business entrepreneurs. The program will end on June 22 with a “Storefront Stroll,” including a networking breakfast, information from small business assistance and lending institutions, and a guided tour on Molly the Trolley to showcase available commercial and retail space.
  • Brooklyn Grooming, a new male grooming line based in the borough, uses signature scents in its products to represent different Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Fort Greene, DNAinfo reported. The co-owner, Mckenzie Santiago, told the website she used strategies she learned from mixing drinks to come up with each scent. What scents did Santiago choose to represent Fort Greene? Lavender and bergamot, she said, signifying the neighborhood’s musical history. Do you agree, or would you choose a different mix to represent the nabe, locals?
  • Looking for something fun to do with your little ones on Memorial Day weekend?
