Good morning, Fort Greene and Clinton Hill.

We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s perfect weather, as it looks like we’re in for another rainy day today with thunderstorms predicted for later this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

We saw some of you last night at the Community Board 2 general meeting at the Pratt Institute. Peg Breen, president of the New York Landmarks Conservancy, stopped by to talk about the non-profit’s work in conserving historical buildings in New York, including brownstones in Clinton Hill, and said that homeowners can apply for grants and loans through the conservancy for upkeep and repair.

Laurie Cumbo, City Council candidate and director of MoCADA, invited locals to a garden party on June 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Walt Whitman Houses.

There will also be a chance to get your blood pressure checked at the Brooklyn Hospital Center Annual Health Fair on June 15 at the Daily News Plaza at the Barclays Center.

  • Sneaker aficionados will want to check out the SNKRBST Red Tape Tour, which hits the Barclays Center on July 21, reported Nice Kicks. The expo, which kicked off on May 19, offers sneakerheads a chance to check out the latest in cool sneaker designs and bring their sneakers to trade or sell.
  • Kids won’t need fancy sneakers to play tennis though! The City Parks Foundation is offering free tennis lessons in Fort Greene Park this summer to children between 6 and 16 years old, reported Myrtle Minutes. Check out the City Parks Foundation website for additional details on the program and how to register.
  • Calling all dads! Mater Mea Magazine is inviting local dads to pose for a Father’s Day photo shoot with their kids on June 15 with veteran photographer J. Quazi King at the Edmonds Playground on DeKalb Avenue, reported Urban Bush Babes. Also be prepared to answer a few questions about what being a father means to you.
