‘The Americans’ Filming On Avenue U And West 11th Street

Bensonhurst Bean super reader Linda Dalton tipped us off to a jumble of movie trailers set up at Avenue U between West 9th Street and West 11th Street for filming.

A little online research revealed that the filming is for the FX television show The Americans, starring Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich.

The show, which debuted in January 2013, is set during the Cold War and is the story of two Soviet KGB officers posing as an American couple in the suburbs of Washington D.C., where they struggle to keep their cover under the gaze of their neighbor, an FBI Counter-Intelligence Agency.

They’ve filmed in several other places around Southern Brooklyn, including Uzbek restaurant Nargis, on Coney Island Avenue in October.
