The Adirondack & Denny’s Steak Pub Named Two Of Brooklyn’s Best Bars
When it’s time to imbibe, our neighborhood has plenty of great watering holes to go to – and now a whole lot more people are clued into some of our favorite spots to raise our glass.
The L Magazine recently published its “50 Best Bars in Brooklyn” – and The Adirondack (1241 Prospect Avenue) and Denny’s Steak Pub (106 Beverley Road) made the cut!
The Adirondack landed number six on the list, with the publication heaping praise on the relatively new bar for having the best happy hour. Describing the Prospect Avenue spot, the magazine wrote:
Feel like you’re far, far away from Brooklyn in this wood-paneled corner bar in the Windy T, and indulge in their long happy hour (3–7pm), during which you’ll get $4 well drinks and $1 off draft beers like Ithaca Flower Power and Other Half Veldrijden Love.
As for Denny’s? It placed 48th – and garnered the title “best bar with a confusing name.” From The L Magazine:
This Kensington dive bar’s name implies that it serves steak. But, well, it doesn’t! Confusing. In fact, it serves no food at all! But it does serve some pretty cheap booze, so check that out before leaving for some place that, you know, does serve food.
A nearby joint, Sycamore (1118 Cortelyou Road), also got a shout-out in the list, with the publication writing:
Once you’re done drowning your relationship woes in three fingers of bourbon, you’ll realize it’s actually all your fault, and make amends to your significant other with a lavish bouquet from Stems; Sycamore’s pop-up flower shop.
What do you think of the list? Are there other bars you’d want on it? If you were making a list of your favorite spots to drink in our area, what would you include? Let us know in the comments below!
