Are you guys ready for the holiday weekend? If you’ve decided to stick close to the Slope this Thanksgiving, here’s a breakdown of what’s open, what’s closed, and what’s running on a different schedule.

Government Offices, Parking, and Sanitation (via nyc.gov)

Government offices, including the Department of Motor Vehicles, are closed. Courts are also closed. There is no mail delivery.

Public schools are closed Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29.

On Thursday, November 28, alternate side parking is suspended. You do not need to pay parking meters. No stopping, no standing and no parking regulations are suspended except where those regulations are in effect seven days a week or at all times.

There is no garbage or recycling pick-up. If Thursday is your regular garbage collection day, put your garbage out after 4 PM Thursday evening. If Thursday is your regular recycling day, wait until next week to put out your recyclables.

The Staten Island Ferry runs on a holiday schedule. Boats run every 30 minutes between 7 AM and 11 PM. Normal service resumes after 11 PM.
