Testing Season
‘Tis the season for tests.
During the next two weeks 3rd through 8th graders will be taking standardized tests in English Language Arts and Math. 3rd and 8th graders will additionally take a standardized science test. The scores students get on these tests will be considered by potential middle and high schools.
It may be too late to set up a test-prep tutor, but it’s not too late to cram.
Free Test Prep
Many schools offer free after school and/or Saturday test prep. Check with your school’s parent coordinator to see what your school offers.
The Official State Assessment website offers past exams for every grade and subject area. Print and have your child practice old tests. The answer keys are also provided. The state cycles through the same questions year after year.
Test Prep Companies
Perhaps one of these companies will have time to tutor your child before the tests. High school students may want to sign up with a Regents tutor soon. June isn’t so far away.

Good luck on the tests!
