Terra – A Casual European Cafe On Sheepshead Bay Road
SHEEPSHEAD – Dining has gone more upscale in the last year in Sheepshead Bay, with quite a few excellent additions.
Terra, a cafe that opened at the end of October on Sheepshead Bay Road, offers good food in a bit more casual setting.
The space is warm and modern, offering plenty of seating. A long upholstered bench stretches the length of one wall, with tables along the other, offering flexibility to accommodate large and small parties with seats for 50 guests.
The menu has something for everyone, vegetarians included, though steak features prominently. There is all day breakfast (or should we say – brunch, as the cafe opens at 10am), pancakes and waffles, eggs every which way, burgers, salads, soups, pasta and more substantial dinner offers. Their portions are generous.
We stopped by the other day for lunch, and around 1pm for a while were the only customers. My 8 year old companion decided to have their sunset smoothie, which was deemed excellent and offered a most generous amount, and sweet crepes.
There are three crepes in each serving, filled with strawberries, bananas and Nutella, with a dollop of whipped cream on top. How could you be disappointed!
Their avocado toast was good, and the portion more than I could manage for lunch – it would have been fine without the fries, delicious and perfectly crisp though they were. The toast was topped almost too generously, though the flavors mixed nicely.

Conclusion? We will be back, and will try this place for dinner – there only seem to be positive reviews on Yelp. Terra offers a good range of both dishes and prices, food was good, service was attentive and pleasant, and the space is lovely.
