Tater-Tot The Cat Looking For A Home

Tater-Tot The Cat Looking For A Home
Tater Tot 3

After this sweet cat was found begging for food in the Tot Lot at the corner of Cortelyou and Argyle this week, she was rescued by neighbor Phoebe – and Tater-Tot now looking for a home for good.

“When I showed up, she was being carried around by school kids as they ran after one another – not her most favorite activity, but Tater is so placid and sweet that she didn’t protest,” Phoebe wrote to us. “Our sweet Tot just wanted someone to save her, and save her we did!”

Tater-Tot is about one-and-a-half years old, and Phoebe said she believes she was “abandoned or left to fend for herself on the street, as so many kitties are.”

“She is not much of a fighter, and clearly other, more savvy street kitties got the lion’s share of food,” Phoebe said. “Tater Tot is in need of fattening up for sure! At present she is only about three pounds.”

However skinny, Tater-Tot is thankfully healthy otherwise – she’s parasite free, flea free, and FeLV and FIV negative. She also gets along with her fellow feline friends and isn’t bothered by dogs.

“Tater is affectionate, calm, curious, and delightful,” Phoebe wrote. “She is a little

love-bug.”

If you think you would like to meet Tater, you can email Phoebe at phebenyc@gmail.com.

Our neighbor noted that there is no adoption fee, but donations towards her care are gladly accepted. And, of course, she’ll be asking Tater’s potential new family a couple questions to make Tater is going to a responsible, stable home.
