Sunset Park Man Dies After Fight With Coworker

SUNSET PARK – An argument between two coworkers turned violent, then deadly, this week after a Brooklyn man succumbed to injuries sustained in a fight on Monday.

In the early evening of Monday, September 24, police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at 140 58th Street, in Sunset Park’s Brooklyn Army Terminal.

Two coworkers, Brian Trinidad, 27, and Luis Solano, 33, had been arguing when their verbal altercation escalated into a physical one, police said. As the two scuffled, Solano punched Trinidad in the face, knocking him to the ground, where he hit his head on the pavement.

Police said Solano continued to assault Trinidad once he was on the ground before fleeing up 58th Street.

Responding EMS rushed Trinidad, who had suffered trauma to his head, down the street to NYU Langone. Two days later, on Wednesday, September 26, the Sunset Park resident succumbed to his injuries and died.

The same day, police arrested Solano, who lives in Hamilton Heights, and charged him with manslaughter and assault.
