Sunday: Food & Toy Drive At Arbuz Cafe To Benefit Homeless Shelter Animals

And they called it… puppy love.

During this Valentine’s Day weekend, Mariya Vlasova and Anna Khazanova, co-founders of the non-profit AMA Animal Rescue, are asking you to open your hearts and show some puppy (and kitty) love to the stray and shelter animals they care for during a “Give Love” drive.

The event, which benefits homeless creatures rescued from high kill shelters, will be held on February 15 from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Arbuz Café, 1706 Sheepshead Bay Road.

The rescue group is hoping that neighbors, supporters and friends stop by Arbuz to donate toys, food, and treats for the animals they care for and try to place into loving forever homes. They are especially looking for sealed treats, and big and small dog bones.

According to AMA’s website, the group hopes to eventually open up “a true no-kill animal sanctuary with a huge backyard, clean cages and veterinary services for those animals that were abused, abandoned or on euthanasia list.”

To learn more about this event, and AMA, they can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and at www.amaanimalrescue.org. You can also email them at amaanimalrescue@gmail.com.
