Subway Conductor Held Passengers On F Train Last Night
F Train riders got a surprise yesterday evening when the conductor of their train took the train express and failed to open the train doors at the Jay Street-MetroTech station around 6pm.
One rider who alerted us to the situation said the conductor sounded like he was talking to children when he made the announcement that the train was going to run express to the 7th Avenue stop and that passengers needing local stops should get off and wait for the next train.
However, the doors did not open. The conductor told passengers to stand clear of the closing doors and the train left the station — not stopping again until the 7th Avenue stop.
Once the train arrived at the station, many angry passengers confronted the conductor who seemed dazed. Gothamist has posted a video of the interaction.
MTA spokesman Adam Lisberg told Gothamist, “We take this matter very seriously and began an investigation as soon we were made aware of it last night. That investigation is ongoing.”
