Stuyvesant Sophomore On Bike Killed In Crash

The L Magazine and Brooklyn Daily Eagle are both reporting on a local 16-year-old who was killed by a car while riding her bike on Saturday. Police say Aileen Chen was riding through a red light at the corner of 62nd Street and 21st Avenue at around 6 pm when she was struck by a white BMW.

According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, the young cyclist was a Sophomore at Stuyvesant High School.

Chen was taken to Lutheran Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. The driver, who stayed at the scene, was not charged.
