Students From PS/MS 282 & PS 321 Excel At State Chess Championships
Local students continue to make our neighborhood proud by bringing home impressive trophies from chess tournaments! This past weekend, kids from PS/MS 282 (180 6th Avenue) and PS 321 (180 7th Avenue) headed up to the New York State Scholastic Championships in Saratoga Springs, and they came back with some impressive results.
The 282 Royal Panthers chess team, which has an amazing track record at competitions, continued a great streak this weekend. The team brought 41 players — second only to the mighty Dalton, which brought 45 — and they won first place in the Primary Reserve and Middle School Reserve sections, along with some individual awards!
Also representing Park Slope with a terrific showing was 2nd grader Wyatt Pak of PS 321, who came in 5th in the Primary Open section!
See the complete 282 standings from the State Championships below, and if you’re able to help support the team, consider giving to their fundraiser.
