Straphanger Slashed on Brooklyn-Bound Subway

WILLIAMSBURG – Police are on the lookout for a woman who slashed another straphanger on a Brooklyn-bound M train yesterday evening.

On Monday, October 23, two individuals got involved in a shoving match at Essex Street station as they boarded the southbound M train around 6:00 pm, said police. A verbal dispute followed onboard the train, then the woman produced a razor blade and slashed her 50-year old victim on the forearm.

The suspect fled the train at Hewes Street station, while the slashed man stayed to be treated by EMS his minor laceration, police said. An image of the suspect can be seen below:

Police described the individual as a Hispanic woman, approximately 40-years-old, 5’6″ and 150 pounds, with a light complexion, short black hair and brown eyes. She has multiple tattoos on both her arms, neck and face. She was last seen wearing a black & gray Orlando Magic baseball hat, black t-shirt, blue jeans and black sneakers.
