Stolen Identity Used To Buy MacBook Worth Almost $2K, Cops Say

Cops are searching for a man who in September used a stolen identity to purchase a MacBook at the Kings Plaza Best Buy.

On September 26, according to authorities, a 48-year-old man reported to police that a credit card had been opened in his name at the Kings Plaza Best Buy, located at 5102 Avenue U. The suspect then used the card to purchase a MacBook worth $1,795.33, cops say.

Cops provided surveillance video of the suspect obtained from Best Buy.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and then entering TIP577.
