Stems’ New Hours, Flower Arranging Class This Sunday & More

Stems’ New Hours, Flower Arranging Class This Sunday & More
Stems workshop

The lovely folk at Stems (1118 Cortelyou Road) have let us know that they have new hours – they’ll now be open from 11am to 6pm daily (except for Tuesdays, when they’ll be closed). The flower shop will also be closed this Saturday because of a private event at Sycamore.

But, they’ll be back this Sunday, for a flower arranging class. There are two spots left for the class, which is $75 and includes an arrangement to take home and two cocktails.

And, in other Stems news, they’ll be teaching a class at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden on November 15 from 2pm to 5pm. The class, titled “Bring in the Flowers, Bring in the Funk: Floral Centerpieces,” will be an “off-the-wall” workshop, according to the Garden.

From the Garden’s website about the workshop:

Join Stems Brooklyn in an off-the-wall centerpiece workshop. We’ll guide you through the basics of flower arranging and then break all the rules by teaching you how to work with non-traditional flora to build a showstopping centerpiece. We’ll use extremely playful colors and textures, as well as techniques for creating swanky designs to brighten up the beginning of winter. If you’ve always wanted to be a florist for a day, this is your chance! We’ll probably be wearing 1970s party wear and listening to Donna Summer, so be prepared.
