Spotted: Double Parked Car With A Ticket On Cortelyou
ticketed car on cortelyou

Double parked cars on Cortelyou between Westminster and Argyle Roads have been problematic in Ditmas Park for a while now, causing more congestion on the street, lowering visibility, and straining relationships between locals and firefighters. Proposed spots dedicated to FDNY parking have even been explored by the DOT and discussed at local traffic forums, but no changes have been made.

Neighbors–many with the belief that cops are turning a blind eye to firefighters in particular–have been frustrated with the lack of tickets that seem to be issued by the constant parking violations, which is why we were surprised to see a double parked car on the block yesterday with a familiar orange slip on the windshield.

So, is it an FDNY car? Have you seen it illegally parked on Cortelyou before? Does it set a precedent, or is it just a fluke? What are your ideas on this?
