Happy Friday! If you’re looking for something fun to do close to home this weekend, here’s a reminder about some of our favorite events taking place around the neighborhood:

Coffee Bark
When: Saturday, September 6, 7am-9am
Where: Meadow beside the Picnic House in Prospect Park (Enter at PPW and 3rd Street)
What: It’s the first Saturday of the month, which can only mean one thing…Coffee Bark with FIDO. There will be treats for dogs (and their owners), as well as information on off-leash activities.
How much: Free.

History In Your Hands: Hearth Cooking
When: Saturdays & Sundays in September, 2-4pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Roll up your sleeves and explore cooking the old fashioned way. Families can look forward to making popcorn with fresh herb butter, apple pies on a rotating basis, churning butter, grinding corn, and pealing apples.
How much: $3 suggested donation.

Morning Bird Walk
When: Sunday, September 7, 8am
Where: Audubon Center, Prospect Park
What: Spend a beautiful morning with our park’s fine feathered friends. The walk, led by the Brooklyn Bird Club, will look for adult and juvenile birds who are migrating from their summer nesting grounds to their winter homes in the tropics.
How much: Free.

Food Truck Rally
When: Sunday, September 7, 11am-5pm
Where: Grand Army Plaza
What: Have the munchies? Stop by Prospect Park on Sunday — the food trucks are back!

Fundraiser: Get Your Pic Taken In A DeLorean Time Machine
When: Sunday, September 7, 12-9am
Where: Leathernecks Tattoo, 667a 5th Avenue
What: Travel through time right on 5th Avenue — well, you can sit in one of the original DeLorean Time Machines, anyway! Get your photo taken, hang out with the shop’s crew, and know you’re helping a good cause.
How much: $15, and all of the proceeds will be donated to Terrence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center’s Huntington’s Disease Unit.
