Don’t wait until the weekend for a little neighborhood fun! Here’s a few of  the events that are taking place in our area through Wednesday:

Gifts: A New Holiday Play By Letter Of Marque Theatre Co.
When: Monday, December 16, 7:30pm
Where: The Fifth Estate, 506 5th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Street
What: Come out to The Fifth Estate for an evening of holiday theatre. The Letter of Marque Theater Company presents their adaptation of O.Henry’s The Gift of the Magi, and offers “a tender glance at the line between giving for the sake of someone else’s happiness and giving for one’s own.”
How much: Free!

Serenade the Slope at Open Mic Night
When: Tuesday, December 17, 8pm to 11pm
Where: Supercollider, 609 4th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets
What: It’s the last open mic of 2013 at Supercollider! This week’s featured performers include Robin Irene Moss and James Margolis. Signup starts at 7:30pm, so come out and show South Slope your stuff.
How much: Free!

When: Wednesday, December 18, 8pm
Where: Barbes, 376 9th Street, between 6th and 7th Avenues
What: Ready for some midweek jazz? Saxophonist and composer Tim Berne brings his acoustic quartet to Barbes on Wednesday night, with special guest, guitarist Ryan Ferreira.
How much: $10
