South Slope Weekday Events Spotlight

Don’t wait until the weekend for a little neighborhood fun! Here’s a few of the events that are happening in our area through Wednesday:

Cafe Steinhof Anniversary Party
When: Monday, September 30, 7pm til…
Where: Cafe Steinhof, 7th Avenue at 14th Street
What: Cafe Steinhof turns 13 this week, and is tossing a monster anniversary party on Monday night. Look for FREE beer and goulash (!!!) from 7pm until 9pm, the movie Sound of Music (9pm), sing-a-longs, games, burlesque dancers and more. Costumes (think lederhosen and nun’s habits) are both welcome and encouraged.

Sweet Sounds at 78 RPM
When: Tuesday, October 1, 8pm to 11pm
Where: Der Kommissar, 5th Avenue between 15th and 16th Street
What: Nostalgic for the comforting sound of a scratchy record player? Head over to Der Kom on Tuesday night and find host Ethan Crenson spinning three hours worth of tunes.
How much: Free!

Musical Story Time With Suzi Shelton
When: Wednesday, October 2, 10:30am to 11:30am
Where: Park Slope Library, 6th Avenue and 9th Street
What: Suzi Shelton and Abby Levin will host a special musical story time at the Park Slope Library for kids ages baby to 5-years. The duo will sing some of their favorite books, including Silly Sally by Audrey Wood, Head To Toe by Eric Carle, and Man Gave Names To All The Animals by Bob Dylan.
