South Slope Gets Some Love In Best Of Brooklyn Bar Awards
The L Magazine recently published a list of their top 25 Brooklyn bars, and a few of our neighborhood watering holes made the cut.
South (629 Fifth Avenue, between 17th and 18th Streets) scored Best Bar With A Bartender Who’s Also A New York Times Columnist (definitely check out Rosie’s book).
If you’re thinking about writing a book of your own, the gang at Monro Pub (481 Fifth Avenue, between 11th and 12th Streets) walked away with Best Bar To Get Cracking On That Novel, for their “dim lighting, reliable WiFi and an abundance of available outlets.”
Last (but certainly not least), Sea Witch (703 5th Avenue, between 21st and 22nd Streets) is the place to go for Amazing Breakfast Food.
Below 9th Street, 5th Avenue continued to shine, with Smith’s Tavern (440 Fifth Avenue, between 8th and 9th Streets) winning Best Surviving Dive Bar In Park Slope. To top it all off, the entire stretch between Carroll and Garfield was named Best Block For A Bar Crawl.
Did your neighborhood favorite make the list? If not, who would you add and why?
