From Giant Flying Turtles, to free lacrosse clinics, there’s plenty to do around South Slope this weekend. These are our top picks:

Thursday, January 3

Get ready to marvel at the harmonizing perfection that is The Debutant Hour at Barbes tonight. Show kicks off at 10pm. No cover.

Friday, January 4

The Fifth Estate (506 5th Ave) has Giant Flying Turtles (not those kind) this Friday at 10pm. We’re completely in love with their music video, Run For Your Life. No cover.

Saturday, January 5

Brooklyn Lacrosse will be holding the first of three FREE clinics this Saturday at P.S. 10 (511 7th Ave). Kids from PK – 8th Grade are invited to attend. Sign up online for one of three time slots:

PK – 2nd Grade: Noon – 1pm

Girls 3rd Grade – 8th Grade: 1pm – 2pm

Boys 3rd Grade – 8th Grade: 2pm – 3pm

Sticks will be provided, and free t-shirts will be given to all attendees. Additional clinics will be held on Saturday, February 16, and Saturday, February 23. Families are invited (and encouraged) to attend all three weekends. For more information, call Brooklyn Lacrosse at 917-715-2524.

Sunday, January 6
