South Slope Events Spotlight: December 5-8
From holiday art to wine and meat, South Slope is definitely the place to be this weekend. Here’s a few of the events that are taking place in our neighborhood through Sunday:
Holiday Art Sale
When: Thursday, December 5-December 6, 4pm to 7pm; December 7-December 8, 11am to 7pm
Where: 440 Gallery, 440 6th Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets
What: Support local art and take care of your holiday shopping at the same time. The 440 Gallery holiday art sale returns this weekend, and is stocked with paintings, photographs, drawings, and mixed-media. Prices start as low as $4.40, so be sure to stop by and check it out.
How much: Free!
Explore And Create: Arts And Crafts For Kids
When: Friday, December 6, 4pm-5pm
Where: Park Slope Library, 431 6th Avenue at 9th Street
What: We’ve got another rainy afternoon in the forecast for Friday, so bring the kids over to the Park Slope Library for an afternoon of arts and crafts. No registration is required.
How Much: Free!
FIDO’s Coffee Bark
When: Saturday, December 7, 7am to 9am
Where: Prospect Park Long Meadow (enter at 9th Street)
What: Come out to Prospect Park Saturday morning for FIDO’s monthly gathering of pet owners and their trusty pups. Look for coffee, pastries, dog treats, and information and issues on off-leash activities.
How much: Free
Wine And Meat Party
When: Sunday, December 8, 6pm to 10pm
Where: Applewood, 501 11th Street at 7th Avenue
What: Our friends at Applewood are joining with neighbor Scott Bridi from Brooklyn Cured for a night of snacks, drinks, and neighborhood fun. You can check out the full tasting menu on the Applewood website.
How much: Free to enter, $8 per snack and $8 per drink. No reservations required, but the event is cash only.
