From Mad Men cool to bust a gut laughs, there’s plenty to do around South Slope this weekend. These are our top picks.

Thursday, December 27

Get lost in a spot that’s said to be “Mad Men cool with a laid back Brooklyn vibe” at 10pm tonight, as Mojo Working hits the stage with Stephen Moses and Percy Jones. The Fifth Estate is located at 506 5th Avenue, between 12th and 13th Streets. No cover.

Friday, December 28

Get groovy with the kids, at Couleur Café (435 7th Avenue). Funky Family Folk Friday, led by Nikolai Moderbacher, is a fun-filled family jam that takes place every Friday at 4pm. For more information on Nikolai and his music (including lyrics to songs performed), visit the Niko’s Kids website.

Saturday, December 29

Family in town? Take ’em to the cemetery! Green-Wood is offering their Discover Green-Wood trolly tour at 1:00pm. One of three different cemetery tours, this one visits the permanent residences of Boss Tweed and Leonard Bernstein, the catacombs and the Civil War Soldiers Lot. Tickets are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

Sunday, December 30

Do you like comedy (as the street advertisers in Times Square like to ask)? Need some time away from the fam? Join Bar 4 (444 7th Avenue) this Sunday from 9pm (ish) through midnight for Ditch Sunday, hosted by Yannis Pappas. Unlike the spots in Times Square, this laugh a minute riot is free!
