CasHank Hootenanny Jamboree
When: Thursday, September 5, 8pm
Where: Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, between 17th and 18th Street
What: Ready for a down-home good time? Host Alex Battles leads an acoustic country jam session over at Freddy’s. Bring your fiddles, banjoes, washboards, and spoons to join in on the fun!
How much: Free!

Club Tropicana at Greenwood Park
When: Friday, September 6
Where: 555 7th Avenue, between 19th and 20th Street
What: Head over to the local beer garden for “classic party jams, disco, nostalgic pop & backyard BBQ fun.”
How much: Free!

Capturing Green-Wood: Inspiration and Tips From a Pro
When: Saturday, September 7, 1pm
Where: 25th Street and 5th Avenue
What: Grab your camera and join award winning photographer Colin Winterbottom (shown above) and historian Jeff Richman for a look at some of the locations featured in Green-Wood’s upcoming book, Green-Wood at 175: Looking Back/Looking Forward. The tour, where you’ll also be given the opportunity to take your own photos, includes a look inside several mausoleums.
How much: $25 for non-members and $20 for members.

History In Your Hands: Playing With Food
When: Sunday, September 8, 2pm and 3pm
Where: Lefferts Historic House, Prospect Park
What: Bring the kids to Prospect Park’s Lefferts House this weekend for some hands on history. Kids can help churn butter, grind corn, peel apples, learn how to make corn husk dolls and participate in other fun crafts. The program runs Saturdays and Sundays through September 29.
How much: $3 suggested donation.
