South Slope Beer Garden Now Open
via Facebook
It’s finally here: Greenwood Park , the anxiously-awaited South Slope (Greenwood Heights?) beer garden, opened last night, which means that we can all stop trekking to Williamsburg for our outdoor IPAs. (When Koelner Bier Halle opens in North Slope “soon,” we’ll be so well-sudsed we won’t know what to do with ourselves!)
Neighbor Aaron Brashear tipped us off to the opening, reporting $3 drafts and a so-far quiet ambiance (it’s only been open one night, though, so it seems likely the calm won’t last — take advantage while we’ve got it).
Greenwood Park is at 555 7th Ave between 19th and 20th Streets. The website is still TBA, but the bar’s Facebook page says they’re open noon to 4am seven days a week. Have you been? Will you go?

Updated to Add: This just in from Brooklyn Based — they’ve got three (3) outdoor bocce lanes. Seems like somebody’s giving Union Hall a run for their money (where money = Italian bowling).
