Sound Off Against After School Cuts at a March at PS 139 This Wednesday

This Wednesday afternoon join CAMBA  staff  at the Lights Off After School march at PS 139. It’s part of a citywide Campaign for Children awareness/advocacy event taking place that afternoon to fight the anticipated cuts to youth programming in the city budget–which would include cuts to CAMBA programs at two of our local schools, PS 139 and PS 249.

Here are the details:

We will be joining the New York City Youth Alliance and other youth organizations in a march to show our support for youth programs in New York City! New York City is facing devastating cuts to our youth programs–child care, after-school programs, Beacon programs, summer jobs–many will be forced to close their doors if these cuts are realized.
The children will participate in a march leaving the school at 4pm. They will begin their walk on Rugby Road, walking one block to Beverley Road, then one block to Argyle Road, then one block to Cortelyou Road. They will stop on Cortelyou Road between Argyle and Rugby Roads, holding signs and cheering in support of after-school. They will then return to the school via Rugby Road. These activities will conclude by 5pm.

Please spread the word to help show support for these important local programs.
