Horseshoe crab counting in the Dead Horse Bay
When: Friday, June 23 at 7:30pm sharp
Where: Dead Horse Bay at the Gateway Marina, 3260 Flatbush Ave
What: Check out Atlas Obscura’s unique event to survey a natural phenomenon as a citizen scientist, at this special place in Brooklyn where dozens of horseshoe crabs gather.

Chand Raat Bazaar

Where: Coney Island Ave at Ave H
What: Check out Midwood’s annual celebration of the last day of Ramadan, where you stock up for Eid al-Fitr, aka Eid, a three-day holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. Expect deals on clothing, jewelry, gifts, and more, plus food, music, and presentations by local officials.

Celebrate Brooklyn: The Soul Rebels w Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch & Kirk Knight When: Saturday, June 24 at 7pm
Where: Prospect Park Bandshell, enter at 9th Street and West Drive
What: New Orleans’ beloved brass ensemble The Soul Rebels brings the spirit of the bayou to the Prospect Park bandshell for the evening, joined by special guests.

Prospect Park Soiree
When: Saturday, June 24 from 5pm to 11pm
Where: Prospect Park, Peninsula
What: Celebrate the park’s 150th anniversary with a magical celebration of Brooklyn’s Backyard. Gather with thousands of friends and neighbors in your most festive attire, prepare a delicious feast, bring your favorite bottle of wine, and dine and dance under the stars — including a DJ set and lawn games.

Events at the Avenue C Plaza: Kite Making & Boat Making Workshops
When: Kite Making on Saturday, June 24 and Boats on Sunday, June 25; 12pm
Where: Avenue C Plaza at McDonald Avenue
What: Join Kensington Join Jill Reiner of Singing Winds for these two creative workshops to make and decorate colorful kites and boats. Also from ArtBuilt Mobile Studios and the Kensington Stewards.

The Cyclone’s 90th Birthday Bash
When: Sunday, June 25 starting at 2pm
Where: Luna Park, Coney Island
What: Coney Island’s historic wooden rollercoaster turns 90 on Monday, and Luna Park will celebrate the Cyclone’s birthday with live music (The Harlem Globetrotters, Fabolous, and more), face painting, tattoos, and more.

“The Puppet Princess” performs at the Garden
When: Sunday, June 25 at 1pm
Where: East 4th St community garden between Ft. Hamilton Parkway and Caton Ave
What: WonderSpark Puppets presents its latest show at the garden — with interactive songs, and followed by a finger puppet making workshop.

Sheepshead Bay Summer Stroll & Antique Car Fair
When: Sunday, June 25 12pm to 5pm
Where: Sheepshead Bay Road from East 14th Street to Emmons Ave
What: Check out the antique cars, belly dancing, bouncy slide, pony rides, FDNY trucks, food and more. Hosted by Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz, the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the Sheepshead Bay Merchants Association.

40th annual Midwood Mardi Gras

Sister Act, Abundantly! at the Kings Theater

Where: The Kings Theater, 1027 Flatbush Avenue
What: AbunDance, the PLG-based dance troupe, is back in action at the Kings Theater, featuring students and performing artists who all represent Brooklyn. An inspiring story for all ages, expressed primarily through dance, theater, and live music.
