So Now Prospect Park Won’t Be Totally Closed On Friday
Prospect Park, fall leaves on trees

Turns out that all of Prospect Park isn’t closed on Friday for President Obama’s visit after all. The park issued the following statement on Thursday afternoon:

Please note that only portions of Prospect Park will not be accessible on Friday, October 25th during the President’s visit. The closure will not affect the entire park. We apologize for the inconvenience and any confusion associated with earlier messages.

We contacted the park to see which areas are going to be closed, but all they would say is “we have no other statement today.” We’ll be sure to update you if they do announce any specific closures.

Earlier today, Green-Wood Cemetery announced that it would be open to runners (it usually doesn’t allow running) on Friday from 12-6pm to accommodate those who wouldn’t be able to use Prospect Park. Not sure how the park’s changes will affect this, but hopefully Green-Wood still goes with it! They have confirmed it’s still on!
