Skylark Collecting Formula And Baby Food For WIC Families

Our neighbors over at Skylark (5th avenue at 11th Street) are collecting unexpired baby formula, baby food and baby cereal for the Children’s Rescue Fund, a Bronx non-profit “providing emergency and transitional housing to homeless families consisting of single pregnant women and single women with children.”

According to a post on the bar’s Facebook timeline, the shelter currently has 22 formula-fed babies in residence, and only enough food to sustain them for 3 days. With the government shutdown defunding WIC, they can no longer afford to stock their pantry.

If you have items to donate, drop them off at Skylark anytime during their operating hours (Monday – Sunday, 12pm to 4am) and the supplies will be delivered to the shelter. The bar says they will continue their collection until the government shutdown ends.
