Six-Story Building To Rise In West 4th Street Empty Lot
A new building is expected to rise on West 4th Street near Avenue O in Gravesend, reports YIMBY.
Property owner Jenny Wu has filed applications for a six-story, 10-unit mixed-use building at 1430 West 4th Street, in eastern Bensonhurst, four blocks from the N train’s Bay Parkway stop. The building will measure 11,139 square feet in total, and will feature 2,394 square feet of health care facilities on the basement level. On the five floors above, residential units will average 875 square feet apiece.
A two-story townhouse that stood there before was demolished in 2005, according to Department of Building [DOB] records. Since then, records show that various owners of the lot have accrued more than $4,000 in fines for DOB violations, including allowing the location to fill with construction debris, failure to protect neighboring properties during excavation, and failure to repair a broken plywood fence surrounding the site.
Ye Development Incorporated, a Bay Ridge-based company, is listed as the applicant of record. We’ve reached out to the developer for details and will update this post as we know more.
