Sign Series: Don’t Park Please, I’ll Do As I Please
It’s too bad that the homeowners of this house and parking space near Sheepshead Bay Road had to put up a sign to protect their driveway space. With free parking space at such a premium, people must be parking a little too close to their curb cut.
We’re living in an increasingly tight city, where Sheepshead Bay is no longer a sleepy cottage town. Pollution and a lack of civility abound.
Speaking of those two evils, we do believe it was a resident at this very same house who yelled a few ‘choice words’ at other nearby residents who were annoyed at being awakened from their weekend sleep by the cacophony of a leaf blower. When they tried to suggest with a “please” that the homeowner use a quiet broom to clean up instead of a menacing machine. PropertyShark says it’s been one owner all this while, so please excuse us if we’re wrong about this particular homeowner.
Residential streets in close proximity to busy Sheepshead Bay Road with its excess traffic, has seen a surge in street debris. Some residents find the only way to tackle the problem is by creating more pollution in the form of noisy leaf blowers.
In many instances, they find the old standard broom or humble rake to be completely out of the question and expect everyone else nearby to get used to to the shrieking noise, instead.
So, other than the fact that it’s not polite to block someone into their own driveway — PLEASE don’t park an inch too close to this homeowner’s driveway, or — you might just get blown away with the leaves and street debris.
