Shop At Ditmas Park Stores This Small Business Saturday

Now that Thanksgiving has passed, it can only mean one thing: Black Friday chatter is taking over. While we are by no means above getting psyched over sales, we’d like to suggest a better shopping alternative: Small Business Saturday.

Small Business Saturday began in 2010 in support and celebration of the small local businesses that are most likely to struggle in competition with the bigger stores and brands, especially during sale events like Black Friday. Founded by American Express (which, admittedly and a bit ironically, is not the smallest of businesses itself), it takes place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, offering a familiar sort of main street appeal between the frenzy of Black Friday and the introversion of Cyber Monday.

Several stores on Church Avenue are holding sales not just this Saturday, but up until December 18–but for places with limited merchandise, you’ll want to act fast. If you’ve heard of any other great local deals, don’t hesitate to share them in the comments below!
