SheepsheadBites.com Breaks 1,000 Hit Mark!

(Clip art. Because I love cheesy clip art.)

We’re ecstatic to bring everyone the news that SheepsheadBites.com today received it’s one-thousandth visitor! And we’re only three weeks old!

Now, there’s no prize or award for the lucky guy or gal who put us to four digits, except, of course, our gratitude, which extends to all our visitors. Without your support, comments, tips and everything else – well, we probably would’ve gotten depressed and given up about a week ago. But we’re happy to say that, while we’ve got a long way to go, the site is a huge success so far, and all because of you.

Heading into our second month of existence, the Bite is planning a few things here and there. First of all, beginning today we’ve signed up to be a part of FeedBurner, a syndication service that gives us statistics on our RSS subscribers so we can better serve you. If you previously signed up via RSS/Atom, we’d appreciate it if you unsubscribed, and then resubscribed using the new link. (Thanks!) Soon we’ll also have social bookmarking tags and email updates to help you stay informed and share the Bite’s content with others. We are also exploring partnership opportunities with other community blogs, such as GerritsenBeach.net, to bring the neighborhood new tools and resources including a user-generated community calendar.

Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to ask all of you how we’re doing so far. What would you like to see more of? Less? Are there any tools/resources you’d like me to add, or issues you’d like me to look into? What kind of weekly features are you interested in?

Once again, thanks for all your help and support. First we hit a thousand, then we’ll hit a million, after that we’ll own the Internet.
