Share Your Opinion On School, Transportation, Safety, And Other Issues On Myrtle Avenue
Us Fort Greene and Clinton Hill residents are nothing if not opinionated, especially when it comes to issues that affect our homes, local haunts, and families, so let’s put that neighborhood expertise to good use by filling out this 2015 Resident Survey, created by the Myrtle Avenue Brooklyn Partnership (MARP).
The survey questions cover everything from transportation access and school quality to public safety and affordable housing availability. According to MARP, the goal is to note “what could still use some attention” and “help [them] better understand how [they] can serve all community stakeholders as our neighborhood continues to grow and develop.”
The survey will be available for about a month, through mid-September. Spread the word and the link — https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MyrtleAvenue — although paper copies of the survey will also be made available at community events and on the street over the next few weeks.
Eventually, the goal is to use the survey results to inform a larger strategic planning effort for both MARP’s business improvement district branch and its broader lifestyle and community-focused branch, the Myrtle Avenue Revitalization Project, said executive director Meredith Phillips Almeida.
“The bid does general satisfaction surveys, but the context for this one is MARP is taking a look at current an future neighborhood needs and trying to chart a course for our organization for the next five to 10 years,” Phillips Almeida explained.
“[MARP] has evolved over the years according to what we’ve heard from residents about what they’d like to see us do. So we thought it’s a good time to take a step back and make the ask,” she said. “We’re also doing focus groups and interviewing community leaders and partners, and the Pratt Center is consulting for us to help us drive the process.”
