PROSPECT LEFFERTS GARDEN — The MTA will close the southbound Winthrop Street (2/5) train station at Nostrand and Parkside Avenues for three months to fix a staircase.

From March 11, 2019 – June 2019, southbound 2/5 trains will bypass the Winthrop Street station. Customers traveling from who need to access the station will need to take the train one stop to the Church Avenue location and transfer to a northbound 2/5 train to Winthrop Street.

In addition to contacting local community board’s about the shutdown, the MTA posted signs throughout the Winthrop train station but an unknown source removed them.

During this period, northbound service at Winthrop Street and Nostrand Avenue location will not be affected.
