Nanny protection laws were passed two years ago, but according to the WSJ, a lot of parents haven’t gotten the memo yet. Meanwhile, residents of 6th Street just got a memo of a totally different kind — this weekend, they were notified that the street will be closed between 4th and 5th Aves for the next more-than-two months, thanks to construction of a new apartment building. Brownstoner has pictures, which assure us that yes, the construction’s as bad as it sounds. Luckily for the rest of us, if not the people of 6th Street, who probably can’t get there, a sunnier photographic view of Park Slope is about to be on display at Culture, says OTBKB.
In other Park Slope art-news, DNAinfo talks to GO finalist Jonathan Blum, and All About Fifth notes that the Kings County Fiber Festival is set for October 6th at Old Stone House, just in time for fall crafting. Maybe knit some fancy legwarmers? Judging from Gothamists pictures, it looks like the little girls of the somewhat unsettling Brooklyn Nets Kids Dance Team need something to keep them warm.
